2024 DMAC Monster Dash 5k Fun Run and Trick or Treat Trail
Join us for a Halloween-themed charity fun run, hosted by Denton Music and Art Collaborative (DMAC Denton) in conjunction with the City of Denton’s 31 days of Halloween!
The 1st DMAC Monster Dash and Trick or Treat Trail will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024. This family-friendly costume-encouraged event takes place at South Lakes Park in Denton, TX.
This is an inclusive, family-oriented event, where runners, walkers, and strollers/rollers are welcome. Each participant is required to register. Stick around after the race to see our award ceremony.

Age Pricing of $20 on tickets will NOT show until in checkout!
Trick or Treat Trail, 1 mile. This is the key element of the Monster Dash event! The Trick or Treat Trail is where participants can stop at various candy stations through the sidewalk path. Maps will be provided of the trail, including the candy stops. (Our Trick or Treat Trail is the existing cement sidewalk of South Lakes Park in Denton, TX. This specific part of the trail is ADA accessible.)
For runners who want to do the full 5K, the race track will include the additional 2.1 miles including the soft surface dirt trail at South Lakes Park. For 2024’s race we will not be having a timed run. We anticipate that this will be an annual event and would love to grow into a timed run. For signing up to run the full 5k you’ll get an honorary badge. Access to Trick or Treat Trail is included in purchase of 5k ticket.
For attendees 13 and under, we have a discounted ticket rate of $20. This includes access to the event, attendee wristband, and an exclusive event sticker.
For ages 14 and up, tickets are $40. This includes access to the event, attendee wristband, an exclusive event sticker, and a locally screen-printed exclusive event shirt.
T-shirts are unisex adult sizing (XS-3XL) and come with the purchase of a $40 adult ticket. If you would like a larger size, please reach out to us at monsterdash@dmacdenton.org so we can try to accommodate you. Need an extra t-shirt? Robot Monster Prints will be live printing shirts on location.

Packet Pickup
October 16th
Packet pickup will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Kava Bar Denton, 109 Industrial St, Denton, TX 76201.
Race DaY
8 am Late Packet Pickup and Late Registration. Late pickup for shirts ends at before the race starts, and runners may register online before the race starts to pick up.
8 am Art Market is open for attendees to shop.
9 am 5K Monster Dash begins at start/finish.
10 am 5K race ends.
10:30 am Trick or Treat Trail begins at start/finish.
11:15 am Costume Contest starts.
12 pm Event ends.
Costume Contest
Come dressed in your best! Whether you want to be a monster, a rock star, a princess, or something in between, we hope you’ll participate in our costume contest.
Our costume contest will be judged by Denton-based content creator and sewing instructor, Lillia Whittington, of Just Lillia. Along with running the Denton Sewing School, Lillia is a co-director of the Reuse Runway, an annual Denton Red Bud Festival tradition.
Awards will be given out in the following categories:
